David Ornstein has informed Liverpool fans to anticipate an official announcement from the club soon regarding Virgil van Dijk’s future.

Ornstein: Van Dijk set to sign new deal ‘soon’
Reporting from Anfield, Ornstein effectively confirmed that Van Dijk is poised to sign a new two-year contract with Liverpool, likely to run until 2027, and reportedly without any release or break clauses—similar to Salah’s deal.
Speaking to NBC Sports, Ornstein stated: “Virgil van Dijk is next on the agenda. It’s going to be a two-year contract with similar terms [to Salah] – 2027, no release or break clauses. They’re crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s and an official announcement will come soon.”

After Van Dijk revealed post-Fulham defeat that contract talks had made ‘progress,’ it seemed only a matter of time before a formal statement followed.
Ornstein echoed that sentiment during his latest update, and Van Dijk himself hinted at developments when he told Sky Sports: “Everyone knows how much I love this club and let’s see what next week will deliver.”
