Darren Bent believes that the £32 million forward Arsenal signed was better than Bukayo Saka.
However, when discussing Arsenal’s best attacking players in recent years, Alexis Sanchez and Bukayo Saka stand out. Saka has established himself as a world-class talent, while Sanchez was instrumental in carrying Arsenal during the mid-2010s.
During a discussion on TalkSPORT, Bent was given the difficult task of choosing between these two Arsenal stars. In the end, he favored Sanchez, stating that the Chilean was on another level at his peak.
When asked to compare the two, Bent acknowledged the challenge of the decision but ultimately chose Sanchez. He noted that while Saka is outstanding, Sanchez, at his best, was among the top players in the Premier League.
Although Saka has yet to reach Sanchez’s peak performance levels, he still has time to develop, given that he is only 23. While former Arsenal winger Robert Pires believes Saka has already surpassed Sanchez, Bent disagrees. However, in a few years, Saka may reshape the debate entirely.
Both players have been exceptional for Arsenal, and it’s unfortunate they never had the opportunity to play together.
