Marc Guehi’s future has taken another turn, with reports indicating Crystal Palace may allow the England international to join Liverpool—on the condition that Joe Gomez heads the other way on a season-long loan. According to the BBC, Palace are open to including Gomez in the deal.
Liverpool are eager to bolster their defense before the transfer window shuts and view Guehi as a key target. They’ve reportedly submitted a £35 million bid.
In response, Palace have asked for an enhanced offer, requesting £5 million in add-ons and a 10% sell-on clause.
The club is open to selling Guehi this summer, especially with just one year left on his contract. Without a deal, Palace risk losing him for nothing in 2026.
Guehi is said to have agreed personal terms with Liverpool, leaving the two clubs to finalize a transfer.
Palace’s interest in Gomez comes at a time when the defender has struggled for game time at Anfield. The 28-year-old has only played 18 minutes so far this season—coming off the bench in Liverpool’s 4-2 win over Bournemouth and remaining unused in their game against Newcastle.
However, Liverpool are hesitant to include Gomez in the deal. Head coach Arne Slot values his leadership and would prefer a cash-only agreement for Guehi.
Meanwhile, Palace have been exploring other defensive options, including Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji. But the Swiss defender appears reluctant to join.
With Guehi’s contract winding down and Liverpool pressing hard, Palace must weigh their options carefully. The coming days are likely to be pivotal in deciding his future.
