Club announces completed transfer as Fabrizio Romano reveals Milos Kerkez’s Liverpool medical details

Liverpool are expected to officially announce their fourth signing of the summer very soon.

Milos Kerkez arrived on Merseyside on Monday to begin medical examinations ahead of his permanent switch from Bournemouth. The Hungarian left-back, who impressed over two seasons under Andoni Iraola, will join compatriot Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield.

Kerkez undergoes medical ahead of £40m transfer

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the 21-year-old is now completing the next phase of his medical tests. Once completed, he will sign a contract to finalise a £40 million move to Liverpool.

This acquisition adds further strength to Arne Slot’s defensive lineup. Jeremie Frimpong has already been brought in, and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili’s delayed transfer was agreed last year.

Nat Phillips seals long-awaited move

In additional transfer news, defender Nat Phillips has finally departed the club. The 28-year-old has joined Jarell Quansah in making a permanent exit, with West Brom confirming Phillips’ arrival on Monday for an undisclosed fee.

More defensive signings on the horizon?

With Quansah’s departure, Liverpool are expected to target another centre-back. Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi continues to be linked, with the England international admired by the club.

With just a year left on his deal, Palace may be forced to accept a lower fee, though Liverpool’s recruitment team—led by Richard Hughes—are prepared to hold off if the valuation is too high.
