Jamie Carragher Claims Anfield’s You’ll Never Walk Alone Is Better

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that Anfield’s rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone surpasses what Celtic fans deliver in Glasgow.

When asked about it, Rodgers, who has managed both clubs, was the ideal person to weigh in. However, he diplomatically avoided taking sides, acknowledging that Carragher would naturally favor Anfield. Speaking to CBS Sports, he said:

“It’s just a preference, isn’t it?! Jamie will say Anfield, of course. I just think it’s a really special anthem.

“I have been really lucky to manage Liverpool and Celtic. Both clubs sing it amazingly, and the passion behind it is superb.”

Why Celtic Park Stands Out

Celtic’s defeat to Bayern Munich marked their first home loss of the campaign, but it came against one of the tournament favorites. Despite the result, it’s clear Rodgers is making progress at the elite level, and Celtic Park is once again asserting itself as a fortress.

Rodgers highlighted the ‘raw passion’ and unique atmosphere that make Celtic Park stand apart from other European stadiums.

When Peter Schmeichel asked what makes the atmosphere at Celtic different from Anfield, Rodgers explained:

“I think it’s the raw passion. Celtic doesn’t have the financial resources of a Premier League club, or even a lower-end Premier League team.

“But in terms of stature and status, this is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and a major part of that is the support base. There’s a real raw passion for the game, and expectations here are massive. Nights at Celtic are special.”
