With the new Premier League season fast approaching, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has emerged as the early bookmakers’ favourite to win the 2025/26 PFA Player of the Year award.
Although this season’s PFA winners haven’t yet been announced, Betfair has already begun speculating on who could claim the prestigious individual honour next year.
Saka, who impressed last season with 12 goals and 13 assists, leads the betting at 13/2, as Arsenal—under Mikel Arteta—are expected to once again compete for the Premier League title.
The England international has proven to be remarkably consistent, ranking among just three Premier League players—alongside Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes—to record double digits in both goals and assists across all competitions in each of the last three campaigns.
Challenging Saka in the odds is Florian Wirtz, following his anticipated debut season at Liverpool. The German playmaker is priced at 7/1, while fellow England stars Phil Foden and Cole Palmer follow closely behind at 8/1.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom commented on the latest odds ahead of the new season’s kickoff next month:
“Bukayo Saka is the current frontrunner for the 2025/26 Player of the Year. He’s priced at 13/2 after playing a vital role in Arsenal’s run to the Champions League semi-finals. Florian Wirtz is next at 7/1, with Phil Foden and Cole Palmer both at 8/1. Further down the list, Matheus Cunha is 33/1, and Arsenal’s new signing Noni Madueke is a 40/1 outsider.”
