The Gunners secured three crucial Premier League points and local bragging rights on Wednesday. Son Heung-min opened the scoring for Spurs before an own goal from Dominic Solanke and a Leandro Trossard strike put Arsenal ahead just before halftime.

The Emirates Stadium was buzzing, fueled by Mikel Arteta’s pre-match rallying cry, and Arsenal’s players frequently gestured to fire up the crowd. Gabriel hyped up the fans, while Myles Lewis-Skelly energized the supporters after his substitution.

However, rival fans on social media were quick to mock Arsenal’s behavior, branding it “cringey.” One user on X wrote, “Arsenal players trying to get the crowd going every 5 secs in a derby game at night while chasing the title is exactly what I expect from that cringe club.”

Another said, “Arsenal might genuinely be the cringiest team ever.” A third added, “Four different Arsenal players trying to rile up the crowd in the space of about 5 minutes—absolute Cringe FC.”

Others echoed the sentiment, with comments like, “Arsenal players trying to hype the crowd every minute is so cringe—TikTok FC,” and, “Arsenal and Arteta are absolutely unbearable. The whole scene is cringe.”

Despite the criticism, Arsenal’s win helped close the gap on league leaders Liverpool, who dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday. The Gunners now have 43 points, trailing Arne Slot’s side by four.

Arsenal will look to maintain their momentum on Saturday when they host Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
