Arsenal Transfer News: Summer Plans, Player Interests, and Injury Update

Arsenal are gearing up for a pivotal summer transfer window following another season without silverware.

Transfer Targets
The Gunners have shown interest in Ademola Lookman after his impressive performances at Atalanta. However, concerns about the 27-year-old’s age and potential resale value have made the club cautious. Lookman is currently valued at around £50 million and appears content in Italy, especially with Atalanta securing a Champions League spot.

Arsenal are also reportedly pursuing Brighton forward Joao Pedro, adding him to their list of attacking options.

Another name linked to the North London club is Rodrygo of Real Madrid. Reports suggest the Brazilian winger is unsettled at the Bernabeu, feeling sidelined by the spotlight on Jude Bellingham and the incoming Kylian Mbappe. Despite his frustrations, Rodrygo has contributed six goals and three assists in 30 La Liga games this season.

Possible Summer Signings
Arsenal are expected to focus on signing a striker, with Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon emerging as a primary target. His £60 million price tag has attracted interest across Europe. Additionally, Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao is high on the list, with a £50 million release clause. Williams could potentially replace Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing, although his wage demands are significant.

Midfield reinforcement is also on the agenda. Arsenal are reportedly ahead of Real Madrid in the race to sign Martin Zubimendi, intending to activate his £50.75 million release clause to make him their first summer signing.

Injury Update: Havertz Close to Return
Kai Havertz may be included in the squad for Arsenal’s match against Newcastle, having resumed training this week. The German forward has been out for four months following hamstring surgery. Manager Mikel Arteta stated that the final decision would rest with the medical team and Havertz’s own readiness.

Arteta praised Havertz’s dedication during recovery, noting the striker’s improved fitness and importance to the team.

Looking Ahead
Arsenal’s summer is shaping up to be active, with Mikel Arteta aiming to strengthen his squad and mount a serious challenge next season.
