Arsenal have been presented with the opportunity to sign a £77m-rated star in January, as Mikel Arteta is reportedly “desperately pushing” to add a new forward to his squad.

Arsenal have reportedly been given the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani during the January transfer window, as per Sami Mokbel of The Daily Mail.

The French forward has fallen out of favor under Luis Enrique, making only two starts in 10 Ligue 1 matches while scoring twice and assisting once. Kolo Muani joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in September 2023 for £77 million, a hefty fee that has added to the pressure on the 26-year-old. With three years left on his contract, PSG is expected to part ways with him either this month or in the summer.

Arsenal have yet to decide on a potential move for Kolo Muani, who could address the team’s offensive concerns amidst Bukayo Saka’s injury. Saka is likely sidelined for four months, prompting manager Mikel Arteta to seek attacking reinforcements. Kolo Muani, who can also play on the right wing, would provide depth and reduce the burden on Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal’s current main striker.

The Frenchman was prolific at Eintracht Frankfurt, contributing 26 goals and 17 assists in 50 games. While PSG’s asking price remains undisclosed, Arsenal might consider a loan deal to manage their budget and strengthen other positions, including Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell. However, Arsenal faces competition from Tottenham, Manchester United, and Liverpool, who are also monitoring Kolo Muani’s availability.
