Arsenal fans were quick to notice Gabriel Martinelli’s reaction after Declan Rice scored the equalizer against Manchester United.
On Sunday, Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League suffered another setback as they were held to a draw at Old Trafford.
United took a surprise lead just before halftime thanks to a stunning free-kick from Bruno Fernandes. In the second half, Arsenal pushed hard and eventually found an equalizer through Rice in the 74th minute.
Despite their efforts, the Gunners couldn’t find a winning goal and had to settle for a point — leaving them 15 points behind Liverpool, who lead the table with just 10 games left.
Following Rice’s goal, Arsenal fans highlighted Martinelli’s reaction — something they felt showed his winning mentality.
Instead of joining in the celebration, the Brazilian winger was seen urging Rice and his teammates to quickly return to the halfway line to restart the game and push for a winner.
Fans took to social media to praise Martinelli’s attitude. One said, “Martinelli was screaming at Rice to come back before joining in the celebration.”

When asked post-match if the result ended Arsenal’s title chances, Mikel Arteta said, “I don’t want to say that. The frustration is not winning today. We know we have to win every match to stay in it, but now isn’t the time to talk about that.”
