Arsenal are making a strong push to sign two top strikers before the transfer deadline after failing to land Ollie Watkins.

Posted on February 1, 2025 By Dailynewsupdate No Comments on Arsenal are making a strong push to sign two top strikers before the transfer deadline after failing to land Ollie Watkins.

Arsenal are still in the market for a striker and have reportedly identified two new targets after failing to sign Ollie Watkins.

The Gunners had a £60 million bid rejected by Aston Villa for the England international earlier this week but remain keen on strengthening their attack, especially following injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.

Manager Mikel Arteta has emphasized the importance of squad depth in recent weeks as Arsenal compete on multiple fronts this season. When asked about potential signings before the February 3 deadline, he expressed confidence in the club’s efforts.

“I’m very confident with the work that the club is doing and exploring every opportunity that could impact the team,” said Arteta. “If a deal can be agreed upon, we will move forward, but if not, we won’t.”

With Watkins now seemingly off the table due to Villa’s unwillingness to sell, Arsenal have shifted their focus elsewhere.

According to GiveMeSport, the North London club is now considering moves for Benjamin Sesko or Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic, who previously rejected Arsenal in favor of Juventus in 2022, has scored 53 goals in 128 appearances for the Italian side. However, with Juventus recently bringing in Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG, the Serbian striker could be open to a transfer.

Meanwhile, Sesko, the highly-rated RB Leipzig forward, has long been admired by Arsenal and is reportedly their top priority.

The 21-year-old Slovenian has netted 14 Bundesliga goals this season, and his agent, Elvis Basanovic, hinted at a potential move to the Premier League earlier this year.

When asked about Sesko’s future by Slovenian channel Arena Sport, Basanovic responded, “I think you should ask Mr. Arteta about that.” He added that Sesko’s versatility makes him an attractive option for many clubs.

“He can play as a lone striker, in a front two, or in a deeper role. He has height, speed, and technical ability,” Basanovic said.
