ARSENAL STAR MIKEL ARTETA ADMIRES NEARS JANUARY DEPARTURE FOLLOWING TRANSFER UPDATE
Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko is reportedly edging closer to a move away from the Emirates, with Borussia Dortmund targeting the Ukrainian international after missing out on Chelsea defender Renato Veiga.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Dortmund has begun talks with Zinchenko’s representatives regarding a potential transfer to Signal Iduna Park. The 28-year-old has struggled for consistent playing time this season, featuring in just 12 matches across all competitions due to injuries and strong competition for places.
Dortmund’s interest in Zinchenko follows their failed pursuit of Veiga, who was initially linked with a loan move to the Bundesliga club. However, Chelsea opted to send Veiga to Juventus on a €5 million loan deal with no buy option. Unwilling to meet Chelsea’s permanent transfer demands, Dortmund has now turned their focus to Zinchenko as a suitable alternative.
