According to talkSPORT, Alexander Isak is demanding a £300,000-a-week salary to sign a new contract with Newcastle United amid growing interest from Liverpool and Saudi club Al-Hilal.
Newcastle are aiming to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Champions League campaign, but so far their only major signing has been Sweden forward Anthony Elanga, who joined from Nottingham Forest in a £55 million deal.
Despite efforts to land several key targets, Newcastle’s main concern has been holding on to their star striker Isak, who is attracting serious attention—particularly from Liverpool.
Isak Seeks Huge Pay Rise to Stay
Isak, widely regarded as one of the top strikers in Europe after an outstanding season at St James’ Park, has emerged as a priority for Liverpool. The Reds have already approached Newcastle, expressing willingness to break their transfer record again this summer after signing Florian Wirtz.
While Newcastle have no intention of selling Isak, they are keen to secure his long-term future. Although he is under contract until 2028, the club wants to lock him down for the foreseeable future. However, Isak is reportedly asking for a weekly wage of £300,000 to agree to an extension.

Reports suggest Isak is open to a move to Liverpool and has also explored the possibility of joining Al-Hilal, with his representatives holding discussions with the Saudi club. Arsenal are also monitoring his situation, though they are presently focused on signing Viktor Gyökeres.
