Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold continue to be at the center of ongoing contract speculation, but this time, the two had to be separated after a playful scuffle at the AXA Training Centre.
With media present and cameras rolling, both players would have been aware that their interaction would grab attention.
Salah was seen smiling as Harvey Elliott stepped in to pull him away, while Alexander-Arnold’s behavior was a bit harder to interpret as light-hearted. Ibou Konate intervened as well, taking hold of his vice-captain as they walked off in opposite directions. Still, there’s little reason to believe this was anything more than some harmless fun between teammates.
Nonetheless, the playful tussle between Salah and Alexander-Arnold is sure to spark conversation.
On the contract front, David Ornstein remains optimistic that Salah will stay at Anfield next season — great news for Liverpool fans, especially given the Egyptian’s stunning tally of 32 goals and 22 assists in 41 appearances this campaign. His potential departure would be a huge blow.
Meanwhile, James Pearce suggests Alexander-Arnold’s future is less certain, with Real Madrid continually linked to the right-back.
Only time will reveal where the academy star will be playing next season, but Liverpool supporters will be hoping that a successful treble pursuit convinces him to stay loyal to the club he grew up supporting.
