According to Bild, Bayer Leverkusen have turned down a €135 million offer from Liverpool for Florian Wirtz.

German news outlet Bild reports that Bayer Leverkusen have rejected Liverpool’s €135 million bid for star midfielder Florian Wirtz.

“Liverpool are aiming to limit the total package to €135 million, while Leverkusen remain firm on their €150 million valuation.

“It is still uncertain whether the difference will be covered through a higher fixed fee or performance-related bonuses.

“Despite the gap, Leverkusen do not currently see the deal as being in jeopardy.

“Liverpool have already secured approval from the club’s ownership to pursue a €150 million deal for Wirtz.

“At this stage, including a player in the transfer is not being considered.”

Commenting on Wirtz, Niclas Füllkrug said, “If it was Liverpool, I’m confident he would definitely strengthen that team.”
