Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique may be facing a major injury concern ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal.
PSG claimed a 1-0 victory in the first leg on Tuesday, giving them the upper hand heading into next Wednesday’s decisive clash in Paris.
With the tie finely poised and PSG having already knocked out Liverpool and Aston Villa, Enrique remains confident as his side prepares to welcome Arsenal for a place in the Champions League final.
Both teams have previously reached the final once and fallen short, adding intensity to the battle for a return to the biggest stage at the Parc des Princes.
Injuries to key players at this stage could prove costly.
Ousmane Dembele scored early at the Emirates, ending a brief goal drought and handing PSG a vital away goal advantage. However, he was forced off the pitch with 20 minutes left and replaced by Bradley Barcola, who had started the second leg of the quarter-final against Villa.
According to trusted journalist Fabrice Hawkins from RMC Sport, Dembele suffered a hamstring issue that will need further assessment.
“Ousmane Dembele has suffered a hamstring injury. He will be monitored in the coming days,” Hawkins reported, noting his strong connections within PSG.
Dembele has been a key figure this season, with eight goals in the Champions League and 21 in Ligue 1.
Luis Enrique downplayed the severity of the injury, calling it “nothing serious,” but the forward’s fitness will be closely watched ahead of the return leg.
PSG face Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Saturday, though team selection there is unlikely to reveal much, given the 20-point lead PSG holds over Marseille as they comfortably secured another domestic title.
