Liverpool confirm the departure of seven players as they release their official retained list.

Posted on June 6, 2025 By Dailynewsupdate No Comments on Liverpool confirm the departure of seven players as they release their official retained list.

Liverpool have officially revealed that seven more players will be departing the club, following the release of their retained list for the 2025/26 season.

Just under two weeks after clinching the Premier League title for the 2024/25 campaign, the club has already shifted its focus to the transfer market, with several high-profile signings expected to be finalized soon.

However, it’s not just incoming transfers that have been in the spotlight. Liverpool have already seen a number of departures during the special transfer window opened ahead of the Club World Cup.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was the first major exit, moving to Real Madrid in a £10 million deal as his contract approached its end. Longtime goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher also left the club, joining Brentford for a fee that could rise to £18 million.

Now, Liverpool have confirmed that an additional seven players will be leaving as part of the changes detailed in the newly published retained list. In an official statement, the club noted that several academy players will be departing following the expiry of their contracts.

Dominic Corness, Louis Enahoro-Marcus, Harry Evers, Lee Jonas, Jakub Ojrzynski, Jacob Poytress, and Reece Trueman are all set to leave the club this summer. Meanwhile, a number of other young talents have been offered new contracts.

“Liverpool would like to thank them for their contributions and wish them the very best in their future careers,” the statement read.

While attention is largely on the seven players departing, the club’s decision to extend offers to eight youth players signals Liverpool’s continued commitment to developing talent from within.

Notably, 18-year-old Keyrol Figueroa—son of former Premier League defender Maynor Figueroa—has been offered a new deal, having impressed at both club level and in the U.S. youth national team setup.

Who Else Might Leave Liverpool This Summer?

To accommodate the anticipated arrivals of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, Liverpool are expected to part ways with several more senior players in the coming months.

Although the club recently turned down an approach from Barcelona for Luis Diaz, the Colombian winger may still be available if a significant offer is made.

Additionally, the futures of other forwards—Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa, and Darwin Nunez—remain uncertain, with Nunez the most likely to move amid reported interest from the Saudi Pro League.
