Supporters of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal are all calling for their clubs to sign the same player following Spain’s thrilling win over France in the Nations League semi-final.
Spain dominated the early stages of the match, opening the scoring with a goal from Nico Williams, followed by a quick second from Mikel Merino, putting the European champions in firm control.
France’s struggles continued into the second half as Spain struck twice more, with Lamine Yamal and Pedri extending their lead.
Kylian Mbappe gave France a glimmer of hope with a penalty, but Yamal added a fifth for Spain shortly after. Rayan Cherki then netted a stunning left-footed goal to make it 5-2.
The scoring continued late into the match, with Spain’s Dani Vivian accidentally putting one into his own net to make it 5-3, before Randal Kolo Muani scored France’s fourth in stoppage time.
Spain will now meet Portugal in the Nations League final on Sunday, June 8, while France will play Germany for third place earlier that day.
While stars like Mbappe, Doue, Yamal, and Pedri impressed, one player in particular caught the attention of Premier League fans—Nico Williams.
The Athletic Club winger tormented France’s defence, prompting fans from several top English clubs to urge their teams to secure his signature.

Despite the growing interest, a move might not be on the cards. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Williams has opened talks over a new deal with Athletic Club. Discussions are reportedly centered around a salary nearing €10 million, with a possible increase in his release clause.
Although clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are attracted by his current €58 million release clause, the full cost of the transfer—including wages and agent fees—could be a stumbling block. Athletic Club are keen to secure his future before official bids come in.
