Romano: Liverpool Preparing for Final Discussions on Upcoming Summer Signing

Liverpool are edging closer to securing their second defensive addition of the summer transfer window.

Following the successful £30 million signing of Jeremie Frimpong, the Reds are now turning their attention to Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez — a promising young left-back seen as a potential long-term solution on that flank.

Fabrizio Romano reported on X that “Liverpool are ready to wrap up the Milos Kerkez deal with just one more round of talks to finalise everything!”

He also noted that personal terms were agreed last week and that negotiations between the clubs are now reaching the final stage.

“Here we go, soon,” Romano added, hinting that the 21-year-old Hungarian international is close to becoming the next player to join Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Kerkez Medical Expected as Tsimikas Faces Uncertain Future

Kerkez is expected to provide direct competition for Andy Robertson, bringing pace, tenacity, and solid technical skills to the left-back position.

Having already played alongside Dominik Szoboszlai for Hungary, his integration into the squad could be smooth.

Should the transfer go through, it may cast doubt over Kostas Tsimikas’ future at Anfield, especially after a season where he managed only two assists in 29 appearances.

The deal would also enhance Liverpool’s depth across the backline, with Frimpong’s arrival intensifying competition for Conor Bradley, who has struggled with injuries and now faces a battle for playing time behind Trent Alexander-Arnold.

These moves form part of Liverpool’s broader efforts to strengthen the squad following their second league title in five years.

Kerkez Deal Nearly Done – Wirtz Next?

Kerkez, who tallied two goals and six assists in 41 appearances for Bournemouth last season, fits Liverpool’s attacking full-back profile — capable of maintaining high pressure and creating wide overloads.

With Frimpong already signed and ongoing talks surrounding Florian Wirtz, Liverpool fans could be witnessing the formation of a dynamic new-look team for the upcoming campaign.

A completed Kerkez deal would mark three exciting signings — with more likely to follow.
