The ex-Everton defender joined Liverpool last summer and was part of Arne Slot’s coaching staff during the club’s Premier League title-winning season.
After previously working under David Moyes at West Ham, the Dutchman now returns to his former club in Amsterdam, where he once played.
This development follows closely on reports that Marino Pusic – Slot’s former assistant at Feyenoord – is still without a position.
Liverpool clearly has its sights set not just on strengthening the squad, but also on refining the coaching structure.
