Liverpool are reportedly planning to part ways with Darwin Nunez at the end of the season and have identified Hugo Ekitike as a potential replacement.
The 22-year-old French striker has impressed at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, scoring 22 goals across all competitions and contributing 12 assists.
With Nunez attracting interest from Saudi Arabian clubs and underperforming with only seven goals this season, Liverpool are exploring options to bolster their attack. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Alexander Isak was initially considered, but his move seems unlikely following Newcastle United’s qualification for the Champions League. As a result, Liverpool have turned their focus to Ekitike.
Widely regarded as a player with immense potential, Ekitike is attracting interest from several clubs across Europe. Liverpool believe they could help develop him into a top-tier talent. He not only offers goal-scoring prowess but also brings technical quality to the team.
