Liverpool ‘keeping tabs’ on surprise Arsenal star in potential transfer that could spark major fan uproar.

Liverpool ‘Monitoring’ Arsenal Starlet Ethan Nwaneri Amid Uncertainty Over Future

Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on promising Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri as questions arise over his long-term future at the Emirates ahead of the summer transfer window.

After a relatively quiet few windows, Arne Slot’s Premier League-winning side is expected to invest heavily this summer. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed that the Reds have reached an agreement to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, activating his €35 million release clause.

Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is also believed to be on Liverpool’s radar, with a permanent move being explored. In addition, German star Florian Wirtz has emerged as a key target, with reports suggesting he prefers a move to Anfield over Bayern Munich.

However, a potential fourth signing could prove the most surprising. According to Graeme Bailey of TBR Football, 18-year-old Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri is yet to commit to a new long-term contract with the Gunners. His current deal, signed in 2023, runs until 2026, and Arsenal are eager to secure fresh terms before he enters the final year.

The report suggests that one of Nwaneri’s main concerns is whether he will receive sufficient first-team opportunities under manager Mikel Arteta. This uncertainty has alerted Liverpool, along with Chelsea and Manchester City, who are all reportedly monitoring the situation closely and could be readying offers.

Nwaneri has made an impression this season, netting nine goals across all competitions, including a standout brace in a 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over Preston North End. Despite being viewed as a future mainstay in Arsenal’s squad, he has started just 10 Premier League matches this term.

As the summer approaches, the Gunners may face stiff competition to keep one of their brightest young talents, and a potential switch to Liverpool would undoubtedly send shockwaves through both fanbases.
