Arsenal are reportedly making a strong push to sign a surprising Chelsea player, according to sensational new claims.
The Gunners endured another season without silverware after being knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain last week. In the Premier League, they also came up short, with Liverpool clinching their 20th league title.
With ambitions to close the gap on their rivals, Arsenal are expected to be active in the upcoming summer transfer window.
One potential target comes from a familiar foe. As per Le 10 Sport, Arsenal are interested in Chelsea’s young Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos. However, they face competition from PSG, who are also monitoring the 21-year-old’s situation.
It remains uncertain whether Chelsea are willing to let him go. Santos initially joined the Blues from Vasco da Gama in January 2023 but hasn’t made a senior appearance for the club. He was loaned back to Vasco, then spent time at Nottingham Forest — making just two appearances — before being recalled. In early 2024, he joined Strasbourg on loan, which was later extended through the following season.
Last summer, Arsenal brought in Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino as part of manager Mikel Arteta’s long-term squad overhaul. Arteta has hinted at another major transfer window ahead, aiming to boost both the depth and quality of the team.
“This summer is going to be big,” Arteta said. “The way we planned the first five summers, they each had a different purpose. Now we’re looking to raise the overall quality and skills to take that next step.”
