Arsenal have officially tabled a €75 million bid for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, having already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Swedish forward.
The Gunners are determined to strengthen their attacking options this summer, identifying Gyökeres as a prime target. The prolific striker has been in outstanding form for Sporting, scoring 50 goals in 55 games since his move from Coventry City, including 47 goals and 11 assists in the current season alone.
Sporting had initially placed a €100 million release clause on the 25-year-old, but recent reports suggest the Portuguese side may be open to negotiating a lower fee—around €70–75 million. Arsenal’s bid matches this adjusted valuation, putting them in a strong position to secure the transfer.
Manager Mikel Arteta is said to fully support the move, viewing Gyökeres as a perfect fit for Arsenal’s attacking style due to his versatility and clinical finishing. While other Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United have expressed interest, Arsenal are currently leading the race and await Sporting’s response to their opening offer.
