Liverpool fans have gone into a frenzy after spotting a social media post from the agent of a player tipped to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, recently confirmed via a video shared on social media on May 5 that he will leave Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of June.

He made his first appearance since the announcement on May 11, coming off the bench in Liverpool’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Arsenal at Anfield. The reaction from the crowd was mixed—some booed him, while others chanted the names of Conor Bradley, whom he replaced, and club legend Steven Gerrard.

Bradley may now see the right-back role as a prime opportunity to cement his place in Arne Slot’s squad. However, Liverpool have also been linked with several external options, including Bayer Leverkusen and Netherlands full-back Jeremie Frimpong.

On May 12, fans noticed a cryptic Instagram story from Frimpong’s agent, Jeffrey Lemmert, who shared a photo of a road with the caption, “We working.” The post sparked speculation, especially as the image appeared to have been taken in the UK, where vehicles drive on the left.

Fans quickly took to social media to share their excitement:

On May 9, journalist Fabrizio Romano provided an update, stating on X that Liverpool are well informed about Frimpong’s situation, including details of his €35–40 million release clause. Frimpong is reportedly open to the move and remains one of the top candidates to replace Alexander-Arnold.

Frimpong, 24, began his career at Manchester City before transferring to Celtic in 2019. In 2021, he joined Bayer Leverkusen and played a key role in their historic 2023/24 campaign, where they went unbeaten in the Bundesliga and secured a domestic double by winning the DFB-Pokal.
