Liverpool’s Potential Lineup After Arne Slot’s Ideal Transfer Window with Four Major Additions
Liverpool’s starting XI could have a fresh look next season if Arne Slot secures his preferred summer signings.
The Reds capped off a fantastic campaign by clinching their 20th top-flight title and only their second Premier League trophy, overcoming Arsenal’s strong challenge and sealing the deal with an emphatic 5-1 win over Spurs last month.
Slot has exceeded expectations in his debut season at Anfield, especially following Jurgen Klopp’s departure last summer. With momentum on their side, Liverpool are expected to be proactive in the upcoming transfer window.
They’ve already secured the futures of key players Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah with new contracts. However, the club will be bidding farewell to homegrown star Trent Alexander-Arnold, who confirmed his departure at the end of the season.
To fill that gap, Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong is reportedly a top target. Liverpool have also been linked with left-back Milos Kerkez, young defender Dean Huijsen, and Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez.
Additionally, goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to join the squad after agreeing a move from Valencia last summer.
If all four targeted players are brought in, Liverpool’s lineup for the 2025/26 season could pose a serious threat across Europe.
Projected Starting XI (2025/26):
Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
Defenders: Jeremie Frimpong, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez
Midfielders: Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister
Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Julian Alvarez, Cody Gakpo
When asked about potential signings ahead of their match against Arsenal, Slot remarked:
“We’ve just won the league and competed well against PSG. It’s tough to find players who can improve us—they need to be available and within our budget.”
