Football pundit Gary Neville has expressed disbelief over Arsenal’s shock elimination of Real Madrid from the UEFA Champions League, calling the result “not adding up” considering Los Blancos’ star-studded squad.
“I don’t understand how Arsenal eliminated Real Madrid,” Neville said. “With the quality of Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo—and don’t forget Bellingham! It’s such a shame. They [Arsenal] will not go past PSG. Their qualities cannot go past the semi-finals. I think Barcelona will meet PSG in the finals.”
But Arsenal fans aren’t rushing to reply. Instead, they’re embracing Neville’s comments as motivation.
“No bro… you don’t need to reply him,” one supporter wrote. “This is exactly what Arsenal players need right now. These kinds of people motivate them even more. I love it this way, please.”
As the Gunners gear up to face PSG in the semi-finals, it seems criticism may be the unexpected fuel behind their European charge.
