Liverpool are now focusing on new contract negotiations after securing extensions for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, according to sources from Football Insider.
In the latest episode of the Inside Track podcast, senior reporter Pete O’Rourke shared that Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota are the next priorities at Anfield. All three players have been linked with potential summer exits, and discussions are set to determine their futures.
Football Insider previously reported on April 18 that Real Madrid are “very interested” in Konate, with PSG also considering a move for the 25-year-old defender.
Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have also attracted significant attention, particularly from Saudi Pro League clubs, and their futures remain uncertain. While Liverpool have previously initiated contract discussions with both forwards, fresh talks are scheduled later in the season.
Regarding Diaz, Liverpool are preparing key negotiations amid ongoing interest from Barcelona. Earlier discussions stalled as the club focused on Salah and Van Dijk’s contracts. Jota’s talks also hit a standstill, and with recurring injury issues, Liverpool are now more open to letting him go.
Konate is still in the club’s long-term plans, but if contract talks fail, Liverpool are willing to sanction a move. His current contract runs until 2026. As a precaution, the Reds are exploring alternative centre-backs like Marc Guehi and Dean Huijsen ahead of the summer window.
Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez could also be on the way out. Former Man United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the club may consider offers for Nunez along with Diaz and Jota. Nunez is expected to be one of the first departures, especially after a denied transfer to Al-Hilal in January and ongoing Saudi interest.
