In the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League, clubs have racked up significant earnings, with Liverpool at the forefront. The total prize pool for this season stands at €2.03 billion, distributed across three main categories:

The 2024/25 Champions League league phase has concluded, marking the introduction of a new format for Europe’s premier football competition. The familiar group stage system has been replaced with a league table, which has expanded the tournament from 32 to 36 teams. Each team now plays eight matches instead of six. Though the format is still in its early stages and raises several questions, it benefits smaller clubs by giving them more opportunities to earn revenue.

Bottom 10 (36th-27th)

This section includes teams like Sparta Prague, Bologna, and RB Salzburg. It’s not surprising that many of the less elite teams are near the bottom of the earnings list. Slovan Bratislava earned the least, just under £19 million. They, along with Strum Graz and Sparta Prague, are the only teams that made less than £25 million during the league phase.

Teams such as BSC Young Boys and Girona earned just over £25 million, while Red Star Belgrade earned slightly more. Bologna crossed the £30 million threshold, but couldn’t replicate their domestic success. Dinamo Zagreb earned a little over £34 million, while Shakhtar Donetsk and RB Salzburg made around £1 million and £2 million more, respectively.

Top 6 Earners (6th-1st)

Borussia Dortmund narrowly missed the top five. Despite struggling in the Bundesliga, they reached the quarter-finals, only to be eliminated by Barcelona. Bayern Munich, who were also eliminated at the same stage by Inter Milan, earned £90.93 million.

The top four teams have all earned over £100 million, with the semi-finalists leading the way. Barcelona are in fourth place, aiming to win their first Champions League title since 2015. Arsenal, who impressed by eliminating PSV and Real Madrid, are in third with £100.23 million.

In second place is Inter Milan with £101.45 million, while Paris Saint-Germain tops the list with £102.56 million. Inter will face Barcelona, while Arsenal will take on PSG in the semi-finals.
