Bukayo Saka found himself in a heated exchange with Dani Carvajal during half-time of Arsenal’s Champions League match against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the game, Saka had missed a penalty as Arsenal aimed to protect their 3–0 aggregate advantage, while Madrid had a penalty decision overturned after a VAR review.
As the teams made their way to the tunnel, Carvajal — sidelined due to injury — approached Saka and whispered something that initially drew a laugh from the winger.
Things quickly escalated when Carvajal placed a hand on Saka’s neck, leading the Arsenal player to shove him away.
Ben White stepped in to defuse the situation before it intensified, and the two eventually parted ways without further incident. No disciplinary measures were taken.
Mikel Arteta later shared exactly what Carlo Ancelotti said to him after the match.
