They later clarified, “He will be working specifically for Liverpool, in their Research department (not the wider FSG group). His title will be Chief Scientist, reporting to Director of Research Will Spearman.”
Liverpool FC data specialist Josh Williams compared the move to a high-profile player transfer, saying, “Very cool, this. The backroom equivalent of Real Madrid poaching Luis Figo from Barcelona.”
