Jurgen Klopp is set to make a return to Liverpool, with his first game already scheduled.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to return to Liverpool before the season ends.

Back in January 2024, Klopp stunned the football world by announcing his decision to step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. He was later succeeded by former Feyenoord boss Arne Slot in the summer.

Slot has performed exceptionally well so far, with Liverpool just 11 points away from securing the Premier League title. Currently, the Reds lead Arsenal by 11 points at the top of the table with only seven matches remaining, putting them in a strong position to claim their 20th top-flight championship.

Since his departure, Klopp has yet to return to Merseyside, but that is about to change.

According to James Pearce of The Athletic, Klopp is set to visit Liverpool next month as the guest speaker at the LFC Foundation gala dinner at Liverpool Cathedral on May 23. He has also received an open invitation from Arne Slot to attend Liverpool’s final Premier League match against Crystal Palace at Anfield on May 25, though it remains unclear if he will accept.

When asked whether he would be in the city for a potential title-winning parade, Klopp confirmed his intention to be in Liverpool but not on the victory bus. He stated, “That’s the idea, but we will see. I think I will be there for the last game. I didn’t want to go earlier because I didn’t want to jinx it. So I go there when it’s decided.”

Klopp previously guided Liverpool to their first-ever Premier League title in the 2019/20 season. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he and his team were unable to celebrate with a parade through the city.
