Roy Keane likely took some satisfaction in analyzing Liverpool’s dreadful first-half performance against Fulham in London.
Despite taking an early lead through a stunning 20-yard strike from Alexis Mac Allister, the Merseysiders quickly fell apart as Fulham responded with three goals in just 14 minutes.
While a defeat wouldn’t be disastrous for Liverpool’s title ambitions—more of a delay than a derailment—it was far from a display worthy of champions.

Keane didn’t hold back in his halftime analysis, slamming Liverpool for their dismal display at Craven Cottage. The ex-Manchester United star bluntly labeled them a “mid-table team” and refrained from detailing just how poor their defense had been.
“Liverpool have looked like a mid-table team,” Keane remarked on Sky Sports.

It’s hard to argue with him. Ibrahima Konaté was fortunate to escape punishment for an early error, while Andy Robertson’s misplaced sideways pass directly led to Fulham’s second goal.
Liverpool weren’t unlucky; they were second-best. Marco Silva’s side dominated the first half, ruthlessly capitalizing on defensive mistakes.
Curtis Jones deserves some leniency, given he was out of position at right-back, but the performances of Robertson and Konaté left much to be desired.
Fullbacks fail miserably in London
Sofascore rated both Jones and Robertson 5.7/10 after 55 minutes, a generous score considering their costly errors.
Jones, at least, will return to his natural midfield role. But Robertson’s latest poor showing only reinforces the argument that he may not be a reliable first-choice left-back for Arne Slot’s Liverpool in the 2024/25 season.
