Sky Sports: Arsenal in Negotiations to Secure £320,000-a-Week Forward in High-Profile Deal

Arsenal are reportedly eager to secure Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane on a free transfer this summer, as per Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The North London club has already engaged in discussions regarding the German international’s potential return to the Premier League. However, Bayern Munich still has the option to extend his contract, which would put an end to transfer speculation.

The Bundesliga champions are in talks with Sane over a contract renewal but have yet to make a formal offer, with less than three months remaining on his current deal.

Sane is reportedly open to joining Arsenal and is even willing to accept a reduced salary from his current £320,000-a-week earnings.

Arsenal Maintain Interest in Sane

Ongoing discussions over the 29-year-old’s future

Plettenberg reports that some within Bayern Munich are skeptical about Sane’s contract extension, even as negotiations continue while Arsenal’s interest grows.

Having previously spent four seasons at Manchester City, Sane departed the Premier League for Bayern in 2020 and has recently been in top form under Vincent Kompany.

The winger has recorded six goal contributions in his last seven Bundesliga games, playing a crucial role in Bayern’s push to stay ahead of defending champions Bayer Leverkusen.

This season, Sane has made 36 appearances for Bayern across all competitions, netting 11 goals and providing four assists.

Arsenal is also monitoring other winger options, including Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, whose release clause stands at €58m (£49m), making him a pricier alternative.
