Liverpool fans worried after noticing Virgil van Dijk’s actions in the tunnel following Champions League loss to PSG.

Liverpool fans have been left worried after noticing what Virgil van Dijk did following the team’s Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG advanced to the quarter-finals at Anfield after winning a penalty shootout, with both legs and extra time ending 1-1 on aggregate.

Although Van Dijk didn’t take a penalty, he watched as both Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo missed their spot kicks, stopped by PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Adding to the concern, Van Dijk’s current Liverpool contract runs out in June, raising speculation that this may have been his final Champions League appearance for the Reds. So far, the club captain has not agreed to a contract extension and has often dodged questions about his future when asked by the media.

What has really caught fans’ attention is what happened after the match — Van Dijk was seen having a conversation in the tunnel with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, alongside PSG sporting director Luis Campos.

While it’s unclear what was discussed — since the chat took place in a public space — many fans believe the talks could hint at a possible summer transfer to PSG.

PSG, who have recently focused on signing younger players, particularly French talent to replace stars like Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi, could benefit from Van Dijk’s experience. Despite being 33, he is still seen as a top-level player who could strengthen their defense.

Meanwhile, Liverpool faces critical decisions regarding the futures of Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, all of whom are out of contract at the end of the season.
