A training ground moment involving Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah has surfaced just ahead of one of Liverpool’s biggest games of the season.
As the Reds prepared at Kirkby for Tuesday’s crucial Champions League round-of-16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain, cameras caught a brief clash between the two star players — both of whom are nearing the end of their current contracts.
Trent and Salah involved in playful exchange at training
At first glance, it appeared that Trent and Salah were having a heated exchange, even pushing each other before Ibrahima Konate and Harvey Elliott stepped in to separate them.
However, judging by the laughter and smiles from other teammates nearby, it was clear the interaction was more playful than serious — not the bust-up some outlets tried to portray it as.
Despite certain media sources describing it as a “tense training ground altercation” to stir up drama ahead of the PSG clash, there was nothing in the footage that suggested real animosity between the pair.
Trent’s recent praise for Salah says it all
It’s also worth remembering what Trent said about Salah following his two-goal performance against Southampton on Saturday: “He’s a game-winner for us. Those are the players you need to be successful and win this league.”
Although both players have yet to renew their contracts, today’s incident shouldn’t be taken as a sign of discontent or a desire to leave Anfield.
Given how crucial they’ve both been this season in Liverpool’s pursuit of silverware, there’s every indication that they remain fully committed to the cause.
Hopefully, Trent and Salah can combine to great effect against PSG and put any talk of a “fallout” firmly to rest.
