Fans applaud Mo Salah as his post-match interaction with Southampton’s Albert Gronbaek quickly goes viral.

Liverpool fans have heaped praise on Mohamed Salah after noticing his gesture toward Southampton’s Albert Gronbaek following the full-time whistle.

Salah was once again the standout performer, netting twice from the penalty spot in Liverpool’s Premier League victory over Southampton.

Despite falling behind just before halftime when Will Smallbone found the net, the league leaders shifted into gear in the second half to secure a crucial 3-1 win at Anfield.

After the match, a video of Salah’s exchange with Gronbaek quickly went viral on social media.

The Danish midfielder was seen asking for Salah’s jersey, and as the Egyptian star removed his shirt, Gronbaek appeared to begin taking his off before hesitating. Salah then handed over his shirt and gestured for Gronbaek’s in return, showing a moment of mutual respect.

Fans on social media reacted positively to the exchange. One wrote: “Poor guy thought Salah wouldn’t want his shirt, and Mo showed respect.”

Another added: “One of the most humble players to ever play the game. I respect him a lot.”

A third fan commented: “Salah is a legend and always sets an example.”

Someone else described the moment as “Classic Mo… an absolute gentleman.”

Another fan simply wrote: “Respect to Salah.”

Speaking post-match, Salah acknowledged the challenge Southampton posed, saying: “It was a tough game. They had a good game plan, and it worked well for them in the first half. But I’m glad we managed to come back in the second half and win.”

He added: “The manager was pushing us because we were too slow in the first half. But we have more experience now, and we handled it well.”

Liverpool will now turn their attention to the Champions League, as they prepare to host Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield on Tuesday night.
