Liverpool fans took to social media to share their reactions after watching the first half of their UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
On Wednesday night, Arne Slot’s side faced a tough challenge at a hostile Parc des Princes as they continued their pursuit of a seventh Champions League title.
PSG, who have been in strong form recently, stood in their way in the round of 16. Luis Enrique’s team came out aggressively, applying intense pressure on Liverpool from the start.
The home side had a goal ruled out for offside, while Alisson Becker produced crucial saves to keep the score at 0-0. Defender Ibrahima Konaté also had a tense moment when a VAR check reviewed his challenge on Bradley Barcola, who was through on goal.
On social media, Liverpool fans were highly critical of Andy Robertson’s performance, as the Scottish full-back struggled to contain an in-form Ousmane Dembélé.
One fan wrote: “Andy Robertson is absolutely finished, mate. He looks like an £8m full-back from Hull.”
Another tweeted: “Andy Robertson has to get off. EMBARRASSING.”
A third added: “Andy Robertson is completely useless. Diaz too. No pace with him, Jota, and Salah.”
Others echoed similar frustrations:
“ANDY ROBERTSON IS AN EMBARRASSMENT.”
“Andy Robertson in 2025 is just sad to watch.”
“Andy Robertson’s time is up.”
Meanwhile, TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist praised PSG’s performance, saying: “What a first half PSG have had. They have been dynamic, powerful, exuberant, and skillful.”
Despite the pressure, Liverpool managed to keep PSG at bay, with the first half ending in a goalless draw.
After their clash with the French side, Liverpool will shift focus back to the Premier League as they host Southampton at Anfield on Saturday. A win could see them extend their lead at the top of the table to 16 points before Arsenal face Manchester United on Sunday.
