Arne Slot expresses dissatisfaction, stating he “won’t accept” the Liverpool star’s current level of effort.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has criticized Darwin Nunez for a lack of effort, making it clear that he won’t tolerate such performances for consecutive matches.

Slot had previously expressed disappointment with Nunez’s reaction to missing a key chance in the draw against Aston Villa, and it appears his frustration with the Uruguayan forward remains.

The Dutch coach once again addressed Nunez’s work rate, stating that he cannot accept his current level of commitment. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Slot said:

“For the second game in a row, I wasn’t pleased with Darwin Nunez’s work ethic. I can accept it happening once, but twice is too much, so I had to address it.”

Nunez has had an inconsistent spell at Anfield, and public criticism from his manager raises questions about his future at the club.

Despite showing immense potential at Benfica, his time at Liverpool has yet to take off. If he hopes to regain Slot’s trust, Nunez will need to significantly improve his performances before the season ends.
