Liverpool’s manager has acknowledged the need for reinforcements and confirmed that the club has identified key areas for improvement.
“We are evaluating every position and analyzing the squad,” Slot told Liverpool.com.
“We said last summer that we didn’t make many signings because Richard [Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director], myself, and others involved wanted to see how the players adapted to me as their new manager.
“Now, we have a clear picture of that. While I won’t disclose which positions we’re prioritizing, it’s evident we’ve assessed the squad and identified areas where we can improve. That’s what we’ll focus on in the summer.”
In addition to Van Dijk and Kelleher, Liverpool may have to find a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Another major concern is Mohamed Salah’s future, as the star forward is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
With several key players possibly departing, significant changes could be on the horizon for the Merseyside club, and we may see a revamped Liverpool side next season.
Financially stable and prepared for major investments, Liverpool could make bold moves in the market. Above all, they may prioritize signing a new striker, as Darwin Núñez has struggled this season, making that position a top concern.
