Arsenal inquired about Stoke City defender Jaden Dixon on transfer deadline day and continue to monitor the England U18 international, sources told Football Insider.
The Gunners showed interest in the 17-year-old as they sought to replace Ayden Heaven, who moved to Manchester United during the January window.
Capable of playing both right-back and center-back, Dixon has broken into Stoke’s first team this season, making six appearances across all competitions. He joined the club in 2023 after leaving Tottenham’s youth academy.
Arsenal’s Search for a Heaven Replacement
Dixon played the full 90 minutes in each of Stoke’s League Cup matches until their elimination in the fourth round by Southampton. He has also earned seven caps for England’s U18s, having previously represented the U17s. While a regular for Stoke’s U21s, a future move to Arsenal remains a possibility.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are still looking to fill the void left by Heaven, who has already made the bench for Man United’s senior squad under Ruben Amorim.
Arsenal Confident of Securing Second Summer Signing
At the senior level, Mikel Arteta’s team is progressing in talks to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi this summer. Football Insider previously reported on February 10 that Arsenal expects to finally secure Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia in the off-season.
The club attempted to sign Garcia in the summer of 2024 but instead opted for a loan deal with Neto. However, Arsenal will not pursue a permanent move for the Bournemouth keeper this time around.
