Liverpool star ‘reluctant’ to sign a new contract as two Premier League clubs express interest.

A Liverpool player is reportedly refusing to sign a new contract, with several Premier League clubs showing interest in a potential transfer.

The Reds face three major contract concerns this summer, as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah are all set to become free agents at the end of June. None of them have agreed to new deals yet, with Real Madrid particularly keen on Alexander-Arnold. The Spanish giants made a bid for the right-back before the January transfer window, but Liverpool swiftly rejected it.

Meanwhile, Van Dijk has drawn interest from Barcelona, while Salah is linked with potential moves to the Saudi Pro League or Paris Saint-Germain.

However, another contract issue has emerged for manager Arne Slot.

According to Football Insider, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is currently unwilling to sign a new contract at Anfield. The Republic of Ireland international will enter the final year of his deal this summer, with Newcastle and Chelsea reportedly interested in signing him if he remains firm in his stance.

Kelleher impressed Liverpool fans with his performances earlier this season while deputizing for Alisson, making eight Premier League appearances. Some supporters even believed he had done enough to challenge the Brazilian for the starting spot. However, with Alisson back, the 26-year-old has returned to his role as second-choice and is now considering a move to secure regular first-team football elsewhere.

His prospects at Liverpool may become even more difficult in the summer, as new signing Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to arrive at Anfield. The Georgia international was signed from Valencia for £34 million last summer and loaned back to the Spanish club for the 2024/25 season.

Kelleher has previously expressed his desire to be a first-choice goalkeeper, stating in October that he had communicated this to Liverpool’s management. He explained, “I played a lot last season, and if you perform well, your value increases because the club wants to make a good profit. I was clear that I wanted to play first-team football, whether at Liverpool or elsewhere. I wanted to be a number one.”
