Plymouth defender lets slip an explicit remark on live ITV broadcast after eliminating Liverpool from the FA Cup.

ITV had to issue an apology for explicit language after Plymouth Argyle pulled off a remarkable FA Cup upset by eliminating Liverpool on Sunday.

Despite sitting at the bottom of the Championship, the Devon club had already caused a shock by defeating Premier League side Brentford in the fourth round. They went a step further at Home Park, overcoming England and Europe’s top team.

Ryan Hardie netted the game’s only goal from the penalty spot early in the second half after Harvey Elliott was penalized for handball.

The Pilgrims put in a heroic defensive display to secure the historic victory, with new signing Nikola Katic delivering a standout performance in central defense and earning the Man of the Match award.

Katic, on loan from Zurich, made an astonishing 17 clearances and even lost a tooth during the match. Overcome with excitement in a post-match interview, he let slip a few expletives. Speaking alongside goalkeeper Conor Hazard, he enthusiastically declared, “I f***ing love it.” ITV presenter Mark Pougatch later apologized for the strong language but acknowledged the emotions behind Katic’s reaction.

The former Rangers defender has quickly become a fan favorite, with supporters appreciating his commitment and passion.

One fan on X wrote: “Nikola Katic joined Plymouth on loan in January, has already helped them keep a clean sheet to beat Liverpool, and told TV cameras he ‘f***ing loved it.’ What a guy.”

Another added: “Loved that Gabriel Clarke wasn’t interested in apologizing either!”

A third commented: “Nice to see the classic phrase ‘industrial language’ make an appearance.”

Although Plymouth sit at the bottom of the Championship with only five wins this season, they rose to the occasion and made history on Sunday. Their focus now shifts to Wednesday’s league match against Millwall, but they will also be eagerly awaiting Monday’s fifth-round draw on BBC One.
