A viral compilation of William Saliba’s performances has sparked debate, with fans suggesting it’s “time for a tough discussion.”

A compilation highlighting William Saliba’s mistakes has gone viral online following Arsenal’s Carabao Cup elimination.

On Wednesday evening, Arsenal were knocked out of the competition after suffering a 2-0 defeat in the second leg of their semi-final against Newcastle United.

Having already lost the home leg 2-0 in January, the Gunners faced an uphill battle but struggled to cope with the intense atmosphere at St James’ Park.

Arsenal’s defensive performance came under heavy scrutiny after the match, with particular focus on Saliba. As a result, a video compilation of his errors gained traction on social media.

Shortly after the defeat, a Liverpool fan posted a two-minute video on platform X, showcasing Saliba losing aerial duels in matches over recent seasons.

The footage features him competing for headers against various opponents, including Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Manchester United’s Rasmus Højlund, and Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, often coming out second best.

The video sparked reactions from Arsenal fans, with one commenting, “Saliba nowadays… hmmm. Might need to start an uncomfortable conversation.”

Another, reflecting on his performance against Newcastle, wrote, “One of the worst Saliba performances I’ve ever seen. I might cry.”

A third added, “Hands down the worst game I have ever seen Saliba play. Pressure can make anyone look like this.”

During the match, Saliba struggled to contain Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who had been linked with Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Isak, who scored in the first leg, found the net early on Wednesday as well, but his goal was ruled out for offside.

Commentating on the game, Gary Neville remarked, “It’s all about Isak. He is causing problems for Arsenal’s centre-backs.”
