Ex-England striker Les Ferdinand believes Arsenal will ‘win the Premier League’ if they sign one player before the transfer deadline.

The Gunners have come agonisingly close to winning the title over the past two seasons, finishing narrowly behind Pep Guardiola’s record-breaking Manchester City team.
Man City’s shocking drop-off has given other teams a chance of ending their stranglehold over the Premier League trophy but Arsenal look set to miss out once again as Liverpool eye glory in Arne Slot’s first season at Anfield.
Mikel Arteta’s side can certainly not be ruled out of the title race, however, and Ferdinand believes the north London club would end their 21-year wait for a Premier League trophy if they signed Alexander Isak.
Isak is believed to be Arsenal’s dream transfer target but is expected to stay at St James’ Park as Newcastle United value him at more than £100m.
Sweden star Isak has scored 54 goals in 92 games for Newcastle and 18 in his last 18 appearances in all competitions.
Ferdinand believes Isak would take Arsenal to another level and says he has the potential to establish himself as one of the best strikers in Premier League history.
‘Listen, right now he is without a doubt the best striker in Europe,’ Ferdinand, who played for Newcastle as well as Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers, told Swedish outlet Expressen.
‘When he came to Newcastle and the Premier League I knew he was a good striker. It will always take some time to adapt.
This league is like no other in terms of intensity and demands. At the beginning he picked up some minor injuries that kept him out. Now I think he has come through that period and is just getting better and better.
‘We often talk about who the best strikers to ever play in the Premier League are. He is certainly on his way to becoming one of them.’
Asked whether Isak should be looking to leave Newcastle to further his career, Ferdinand added: ‘I would love it if he stayed! Then he could grow into one of the best strikers to ever be at the club.
‘When you do what he’s doing right now, there’s always going to be rumours. And if you’re Newcastle, you’re proud of that.
‘You want other clubs to be after your players, that means you’re doing something right. Now it’s up to Newcastle to persuade him and do the things they need to do to keep him.
‘You see Haaland signing a nine-and-a-half-year contract. He sees Manchester City doing the right things.
‘If Arsenal want a striker right now, take Isak from Newcastle and put him in your team, I think they’ll win the league then… without a doubt.
‘Defensively they are the best in the league. And the way Isak scores the goals he does… but I don’t want to see him go to Arsenal!
‘He really has the qualities to be one of the best strikers this league has ever seen. And as I said before, he is heading in the right direction.’
