Arsenal have the opportunity to sign two high-profile players in January, as Mikel Arteta confirms the club’s intent to strengthen the squad.

Arsenal have reportedly been offered two prominent players to address their attacking concerns after manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the club is “actively” seeking reinforcements during the January transfer window.

The Gunners face a major setback following confirmation that Gabriel Jesus sustained an ACL injury during the clash against Manchester United, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

Jesus joins a growing injury list that includes Ben White, Ethan Nwaneri, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Riccardo Calafiori, and Bukayo Saka, with Saka expected to return by late February or March. As a result, Arsenal’s attacking options are currently limited, prompting Arteta to signal the club’s intent to strengthen the squad.

“We are actively looking in the market to improve the squad. That’s been our approach since day one,” Arteta said ahead of the North London derby. “It would be naive not to. It’s an opportunity to strengthen the team. We’re exploring options and seeing what can be done.”

Arsenal have been linked with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, though reports suggest Sociedad are unwilling to let him leave before the end of the season. Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic has also been mentioned as a possible loan target.

However, a recent report from the Daily Mail claims Arsenal have been offered Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani and Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman. PSG is said to be pushing for a £50 million “obligation to buy” clause in any loan deal for Kolo Muani, which has discouraged both Arsenal and Manchester United, who view the fee as excessive.

While Arsenal admire Coman’s impressive record of achievements, his transfer fee and wage demands are reportedly seen as too high. The club remains “unsure” about both players due to concerns over their market value.
