Liverpool’s unusual hotel demands were ‘leaked,’ featuring specific requests for several senior players.

Liverpool’s unusual set of hotel demands for the 2016/17 season, including specific requests for senior players, has resurfaced.

Before a pre-season fixture against Huddersfield Town, which Liverpool won 2-0 with goals from Marko Grujić and Alberto Moreno, a leaked document titled “LIVERPOOL FC – Domestic Hotel Requirements Seasons 2016-2017” revealed detailed accommodation preferences.

According to the document, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana were to be placed in adjacent rooms, while Philippe Coutinho required a fan in his room. Then-manager Jürgen Klopp and his assistant Peter Krawietz were each allocated smoking rooms, which had to be separate from the players’ rooms but close to other backroom staff.

Liverpool also requested that all players stay on the same floor and in the same area, with each room equipped with double beds, Wi-Fi, and Pay TV. However, hotel phones for incoming and outgoing calls were to be disabled, and no alcohol or snacks were allowed in players’ rooms. Instead, players were provided with two one-liter bottles of water.

Porters and luggage trolleys were requested to assist with bags upon arrival, and players were instructed to wear only New Balance clothing and accessories, excluding footwear, as New Balance was the club’s kit supplier at the time.

The document also reminded players to bring their passports ahead of a pre-season tour in the USA.

Under current manager Arne Slot, Liverpool likely operates with a new set of travel and accommodation requirements for domestic and international fixtures.
