Liverpool have reportedly set a price for midfielder Harvey Elliott amid speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield.
Elliott started in Liverpool’s 4-0 FA Cup win over League Two side Accrington Stanley on Saturday, as the Reds bounced back from two disappointing performances. Goals from Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jayden Danns, and Federico Chiesa sealed a dominant victory.
However, before the match, there were rumors about Elliott’s future at Liverpool due to his limited playing time this season. He currently finds himself behind Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Curtis Jones in the pecking order.
Reports suggest that clubs like Brighton & Hove Albion and Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in the 21-year-old midfielder.
According to The Sun, Liverpool have set an asking price of £35 million to £40 million for Elliott’s departure.
So far this season, Elliott has played only 43 minutes across seven Premier League matches.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently commented on Elliott, saying: “He’s a talented player and has been for us for a long time. Recently, he’s had some minutes, but like all players, he’s competing with many others for a spot. He was unfortunate to get injured after just two games and missed a lot of time. Coming back after such a long injury isn’t easy, especially in a league with the intensity and quality we have. Many of our players who’ve been out for weeks are still trying to find their best form.”
Slot added, “We need to find the balance between giving them playing time to regain their best form and still ensuring we win every match.”
Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Tuesday when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
