Federico Chiesa shares a cryptic Instagram post amid rumors of a potential Liverpool transfer.

Speculation continues to surround Federico Chiesa, who has made just four appearances for Liverpool since joining from Juventus last summer.

The Italian winger was considered a bargain addition to Arne Slot’s squad, having been signed for a fraction of the fee he might have commanded following his heroics in Italy’s 2021 European Championship victory. However, the move has not panned out as hoped, with Chiesa featuring only once since September — a brief cameo in the Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Southampton in December.

Slot was unimpressed with that performance but acknowledged that inconsistency was to be expected after such a long spell out of the team.

On Friday, Chiesa posted a series of photos on Instagram of him in action for Liverpool, accompanied by a heart emoji but no caption. Fans responded with supportive comments, with one saying, “Your time is coming, Fede. We’ll be waiting,” and another dismissing transfer rumors, writing, “Don’t believe the trash rumors!”

Earlier this week, TBR Football reported that Chiesa’s representatives had approached Liverpool to discuss a potential return to Italy during the January transfer window. Chiesa reportedly understands that the players ahead of him in Liverpool’s lineup are currently undroppable, but that offers little solace for a player who was once regarded as one of Europe’s brightest talents.

According to Anfield Watch, Slot has been dissatisfied with Chiesa’s attitude and work ethic since his arrival, adding to the challenges of his time at the club.
