Liverpool have finalized the extension of a defender’s loan deal after talks in January.

Rhys Williams has extended his loan spell at Morecambe until the end of the 2024/25 campaign. The 23-year-old English defender, who has nine senior Liverpool appearances, has made 25 appearances for the League 2 outfit and scored two goals.

Morecambe is currently in 23rd place in the League 2 table with 20 points. Williams has spent much of his senior career on loan, including spells with Swansea City and Blackpool. Morecambe boss Derek Adams is pleased to have Williams for the rest of the season, as he believes Williams has improved significantly since joining the team.
